Teuntje "Margie" Tabor-Brim's Obituary
Teuntje "Margie" Tabor-Brim Teuntje "Margie" Tabor-Brim, 75, of Grand Rapids, died July 22, 2014. Margie was the loving wife of the late Thomas Tabor Sr. for fifty years in Tacoma, WA, and more recently wife of Thomas Brim in Grand Rapids, MI, dear mother of Thomas Jr. (Vicky) Tabor of Ada, MI, Greg (Lenora) Tabor of Colorado Springs, CO, Cindy (Bobby) Fischer of Collierville, TN, and Christine Tabor-Burris of Gig Harbor, WA. Margie is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and eight siblings. Margie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; a tireless volunteer of her time, talent, and resources to her church, and to many charitable and political organizations. She retired as a top producing sales rep from AFLAC after more than 25 years. She was twice certified as an Advanced Master Gardener, a long standing member of the Tacoma Soroptimist Club, and a volunteer Docent at Meijer Gardens. She loved gardening (especially flowers), loved music, and sang in church choirs for more than 40 years. A longtime resident of Lakewood, WA, Margie was highly involved in the Lakewood Women's Republican Club and a supporter of the Lakewood Swim Club, who also enjoyed playing Tennis and Bridge. A former member of Fox Island Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, and the Christian Reformed Community Church of Tacoma, she also served as the children's song leader for many years. An interment and memorial service honoring Margie's life will be held on Saturday, September 27th, at 1:30 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Soroptimist International of Tacoma.
