Teressa Ella Shatto's Obituary
Teressa Ella Shatto
04/19/1918 -" 01/02/2009
On January 2nd 2009 Ella went home to be with our Heavenly Father and her beloved husband Ralph. Our sweet G.G. went peacefully in her sleep after weeks of waning health. Ella was born April 19th 1918 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Ella and husband Ralph, a World War II veteran, fell in love with the Tacoma area while Ralph was stationed at Fort Lewis. They moved to Tacoma with their son Ralph II in 1948. Ralph passed suddenly from a heart attack in January of 1968. Ella and her son Ralph II remained in the Tacoma area, where she touched the lives of many. She was a long time member of Evangelistic Tabernacle where she sang in the choir. Ella spent many years in the savings and loan industry before becoming the bright and shiny-faced courtesy clerk everyone loved at Safeway. Her sister Madelyn Andrews, her son Ralph Shatto II (Carol), dearest friend and honorary daughter Mary Patterson (Rocky), grandsons Tony Shatto (Stephenie) and Joe Piirto, and great grand children Ashley, Beau, and Scotty Shatto survive her. She was loved and cherished by all that had the privilege of knowing her. She will be forever in our hearts. In honor of G.G.'s long time companion, Neeby (her cat), memorial donations may be made to Pierce County Animal Welfare, 8504 Chambers Creek Road University Place, WA 98467. A private family service is planned. Please sign online guestbook at www.mountainviewtacoma.com.
