Teresa “Terri” Julia Young

Teresa Julia Young, lovingly known as “Terri,” passed away on March 31, 2025, in her home. She was born on June 12, 1955, in Tacoma, Washington to Barbara Mae Stecker and spent most of her life in the Tacoma and Puyallup area, where she graduated from Puyallup High School.
Terri worked in the food and beverage service industry throughout her life and was known for her hardworking nature and friendly spirit. She had a deep passion for gardening and outdoor life, and she cherished time spent with her family, especially her sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Jeff Young and James Young, her daughter-in-law Lily, and her beloved grandchildren: Larkin Daily, Jayden Young, London Young, Bella Kong, Ty Kong, Wesley Kong and Devon Wilkins. She also leaves behind her great-granddaughter Jazley Kong, and her special girls, Arya and Sansa. Terri’s two cherished cats, Jax and Duce, were always close by her side, and baby-girl will forever remain in her heart.
She is also survived by her sister Gayle Littler, her brothers David Murphy and Greg Stecker, her nephew Chad Littler, and her close friend Terry W. She was preceded in death by her brother Jim Murphy and her mother, Barbara Mae Stecker.
A private celebration with close family and friends will be held to honor Terri’s life, featuring a custom memorial with a birdhouse theme in remembrance of the nature she loved so deeply.
