Teena M. Knapp's Obituary
Teena Marie Knapp (nee Plummer), aged 80, of Seattle, Washington, was called to her eternal rest on May 4, 2024, at her residence in Lakewood, Washington.
Born into this world with a gentle spirit and a radiant smile, Teena devoted her life to nurturing the minds and spirits of those around her. As an educator of high repute, she began her illustrious career at Thomas Jefferson High School, where her dedication to her students was evident in her every interaction. Her quest for knowledge led her to attain a double master's degree in Education from Pacific Lutheran University during the mid-1980s, after which she ascended to the role of Assistant Vice Principal at the very institution where she had started her teaching journey, Thomas Jefferson High School. She befittingly culminated her professional career within the Federal Way School District, leaving an indelible mark on the countless lives she touched.
Away from the hallowed halls of learning, Teena found solace in the intricate stitches of her sewing and knitting, the joyful sojourns of travel, and the cherished moments spent in the company of her beloved canine companion. Her laughter and wisdom will be keenly missed by all who had the privilege of encountering her.
The legacy of Teena's kindheartedness and strength lives on in her children, her daughter, Meredith, and her son, Tyler, her daughter Yoko, grandson Leo, as well as the extended family, friends, and former students whose lives are richer for having known her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and commemorate Teena's life at a funeral service scheduled for June 22nd, 11:30 am at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, Washington 98499, in the Garden Chapel. Following the services, a reception will be held at 2:00 pm at the Oakbrook Golf Club, 8102 Zircon Dr SW, Lakewood, Washington 98498.
In Teena's memory, and in recognition of her battle with Alzheimer's disease, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Washington State Chapter, at https://www.alz.org/alzwa, in lieu of floral tributes.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery for their compassionate support and guidance during this difficult time. May Teena's soul be granted peace as she journeys onward.
