Ted Dahl's Obituary
Ted Dahl was born June 28, 1916, in Tacoma; he passed away on Oct 19, 2005. He graduated from Stadium High School and went on to acquire degrees in Industrial Engineering and also Safety Engineering from Edison College, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte. Ted is survived by his son, Gary R. Dahl, of Lakewood.Ted was a long time resident of Pierce County who was active in many organizations and a very effective political advocate for Senior Citizens and Long Term Care Issues. He served on the Pierce County Aging and Long Term Advisory Board, and was the representative for Pierce County for the Washington State Senior Lobby in Olympia for many years. Ted was a certified Long Term Care Ombudsman. He was also a member of RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) and SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Advisor). Ted served on the Senior Group Committee, and as the Supplemental Insurance Policy Advisor to the Pierce County Medical Bureau. He was asked to serve twice on the United States Congressional Advisory Board, and was recognized in the 19th Edition of Â"WhoÂ's Who in the West.Â" Ted was an active member of the Sons of Norway Club.Donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice House. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, Oct 27, 2005, in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
