Taraja Mikayla Warren's Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Taraja Mikayla Warren:
Beloved Daughter, Mother, Nonie, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin and Friend.
September 23, 1980 - March 19, 2025.
Taraja was a shining, sparkling light with a generous heart, free spirit, wickedly funny sense of humor and quick wit, and underneath was a sensitive and soft hearted soul. She loved and lived passionately with a tenacity and generosity that she spread freely. She often brought her own socks and blankets, plates of food and warm drinks to the unhoused she saw nearby.
Nothing could shine a light on her fierce love and protectiveness for her 5 children and two grand babies.
“T” was creative with a flair for style and fashion. She loved beading and creating jewelry. She loved to dress up but could toss on a baseball cap and jeans and still look like a million bucks. Music was her grounding place, her sanctuary. She loved every genre you can imagine and was always making us listen to new artists she would discover. She always rode with the sun roof open and music blasting. She collected vintage rock and roll T-shirts, skulls and “needed” every perfume she could could get her hands on. Everything had to smell good.
She may not be here in her physical body but her presence will never cease for those of us who loved her. She lives on through our many memories, photos, funny stories, friendships and the smiles and twinkling eyes of her beautiful children who will forever know a sense of loss that never leaves.
She was a tissue donor and her corneas will soon restore eyesight to two people.
Surviving Taraja are her loving parents, Mother, Lori L Williams, Father, Don ‘Sam’ Warren, her children, the loves of her life and pride and joy: Kynnadi Alexis 25, Ja’Daya Rose 22, her “sonshines” Jayce Julian 18, Kameron Kenneth 15, Kruz Christian 13. “Nonie’s” adored grandbabies (although I don’t think she ever told them no!) Azario Emerson 5, and Azayla Eliana 1. She is also survived by her big sister LoTanya Orozco, her aunt Deborah Weinstein, with whom she shared a very special bond, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and all her amazing friends. She SO LOVED you all.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday April 6th, 2025 at Ray Gibson’s Caballero Club in Tacoma, Washington.
In lieu of flowers please feel free to reach out to her children because they are devastated by the loss of their mom.
Taraja will be eternally missed and for us who knew her the light in the world became less bright when she left us. The last words in every single one of our goodbyes were “I love you”.
Until we meet again sweetheart. We love you.
