Tamiko Otani Jackson's Obituary
Tamiko was born to Takeo and Masue Otani on August 2,1929 in Nagoya Japan. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her strength and determination. She was a true warrior until her passing on February 24, 2021, at the age of 91.
Tamiko married Lando Hendricks Jackson on February 18, 1953 in Sapporo Japan and moved to the United States. They were later stationed in Augsburg Germany, where they made many lifelong friends. They often reminisced about their second honeymoon in Paris. Together, they had one child: Tamiko Grace Jackson.
She loved spending time in the kitchen, both as a career and creating delicious meals for friends and family. Tamiko was known for her cooking. She was especially famous for her New Year's day feast. Every year, more friends would gather around the table to celebrate and enjoy the enormous spread of both Western and Japanese food, known as Osechi Ryori. In addition, she loved to garden, sharing her bounty of vegetables with friends and neighbors. She loved Horse racing and tennis, and exploring hot springs with her girlfriends. She was a member of the local Japanese Women's Club, Tanpopo No Kai. Tamiko had a serious passion for Sumo wrestling! She will be missed dearly
