Tamela "Tami" Ann Mingus' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved Tamela Ann Mingus passed away on April 17, 2014. Tami, as she was known, was born in Pullman, WA on July 17, 1953, to Virgil and Betty Reynolds and was the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from Pullman High School in 1971. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a loving sister and daughter, and a treasured friend to so many.
Tami is survived by her mother Betty; her son Shane (wife Tammie and children Brandon and Nathan); her son Cobey; her sisters Gloria (husband Richard) and Dede (husband Brad); her half brother Tryg (wife Carol and 5 Children); her nieces Lisa (husband Justin), Tara (husband Chris), and Kylie; her nephews Corey and Erik. Along with her two grandchildren, whom she loved and adored, she is also survived by five grandnephews and grandnieces whom she always showed love, a warm sense of humor, and lots of playfulness.
Tami married at an early age and traveled all over the United States and abroad for over 22 years as a military wife. Throughout the years she touched many people and she cherished those times together and enjoyed the many memories. She loved antiques, crafts, gardening, making jewelry, quilting, and was a collector of many things. She loved making her house a home. Her selflessness and her friendly smile and spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Tami worked at many places throughout the years where she had a positive impact on peoples' lives. She was a realtor at Allen Realty where she was just beginning to blossom. She was always enthusiastic about her next endeavor whether it was selling a property or a new project at home. It is not the length of life, but it is the depth of life lived that truly matters, and Tami truly enjoyed a full life with her family and friends.
Tami was preceded in death by her father, Virgil on May 31,1990.
Please join her family and friends in celebrating her life Friday May 9th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Beach Park (in the covered Pavilion) between Lafayette St. and Chambers Creek Rd. Steilacoom, WA 98388, a reception will follow her service.
Parking is $5.00 at Sunnyside Beach Park.
“God looked around his garden and found an empty space
Then He looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
God's garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you that day when God called you home
You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again”
