Susanna Hongyee's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Susanna Hongyee, a woman whose life was a testament to unwavering faith and boundless love for both our Lord and her family. Her devotion to serving God and attending St. Theresa’s Catholic Church brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Susanna passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on October 22, 1938, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Susanna's vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
Susanna was a cherished sister, beloved mother, and devoted wife to Juan C. Hongyee. Together, they built a loving home filled with warmth and joy. Preceded in death by her husband Juan, her son John, and Baby (daughter) Hongyee, Susanna leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be held dear by her daughters: Terry (Laurence) Taylor, Barbara (Rodney) Wong, Donna (Scott) Booth, and Laura (Jeff Holmes) Woods.
Among Susanna's greatest joys was being a grandmother to her six grandchildren: Kenneth Taylor, Jennifer Wong, Samantha Taylor Krause, Shelby Booth Wymer, Danielle Taylor, and Jordan Booth. She showered them with affection, and also made sure everyone was always well fed. Their lives will be forever enriched by the love of their "Grandma".
Susanna will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, care, love and devotion to her family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to honor Susanna's life at a Memorial Service on Thursday, April 11th, at 2:00 pm PT in the Aspen Chapel Celebration of Life Center at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA. Following the service, a graveside committal service will take place at 3:30 pm PT, with a reception to follow at the Willow Room - Celebration of Life Building at Mountain View.
