I met Susan when I was in first grade at Custer Elementary. She was a para educator at Custer. She was on the playground and around the school with us. She was a warm, kind, welcoming, and caring woman. I remember her always being there when I needed anything and making you feel safe and loved at school. My mother worked at the school in my later years also and they instantly became friends. I don’t think anyone could meet Susan and not love her. As I said I met her when I was in first grade (6 years old) I am now Turing 40 and she still stands out so much in my mind. Many children have few teachers or school staff that make such a mark on their lives that they still remember them over 30 years later. I have nothing but happy memories of her. We all will see things a little darker without such a beautiful bright light on Earth. Heaven is shining so much brighter with her there. Prayers for her family in losing such an amazing woman.
