Susan Ann Goerger's Obituary
Beloved wife to Neal, loving mother to Kevin and Darcy, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2020. Born December 27,1953, Susan resided in the Tacoma area her entire life. After graduation Susan worked as dental assistant before becoming a para-professional continuing on to become a teacher with a degree in special education (K-12). She completed her to education with a masters in school administration becoming a principal and eventually retiring from Tacoma School District after 30 years of service. Susan took pride in knowing the names of all her students during her principalship.
Her family time was spent enjoying old cars and rod runs around the area and working on old cars along side her husband. One of Susan’s greatest joy was the special times she spent with her granddaughter Luciana. One of her favorite times was surprising her granddaughter by flying to Disneyland to vacation with her. The birth of her second grandchild Finn, brought joy to the family once again with Susan naturally instructing, teaching and loving her new grandson.
Susan is survived by her husband, Neal Goerger, son, Kevin Goerger (Janet), daughter Darcy Camper (Christopher), granddaughter, Luciana Camper, grandson Finn Goerger, mother Lois Nunamaker, sisters, Dorene Caillier, Elaine Gurr, and brothers Larry Deck, Jeff Erickson as well as additional extended family and friends. The family would like to thank MultiCare Home Health and Hospice for their care and support.
Memorial services for Susan will be held at 2:00 pm on March 15, 2020 at University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th St W University Place, WA 98466. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity or church of your choice.
