Sumiko Hanson's Obituary
Sumiko Â"Lil PegÂ" HansonSumiko passed away on Nov. 1, 2004. Born on Feb. 27, 1931 in Osaka Japan, she married Edward Hanson in 1954. She traveled around the world with her military husband, settling in Parkland in 1973 after his death. She recently moved to University Place last year. Sumiko enjoyed Japanese doll making, silk flower making, and was an excellent seamstress for Fredrick & Nelson and The MenÂ's Wearhouse. Sumiko is preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, husband, and daughter Peggy. She is survived by daughter Debbie McDonald (Dalin), grandchildren Trevor and Tawni, all of University Place, sisters Takako Ono, Keiko Matsuuchi and nieces and nephews all of Osaka. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Guy Runkle and the Mulitcare Hospice team of Tacoma. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sat. Nov. 13, at 11:00AM in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Multicare Hospice of Tacoma, M/S 315-M3-HOT, P.O.Box 5299, Tacoma, WA 98415, under SumikoÂ's name.
