Steven Smyres' Obituary
October 10-1951 – May 29-2015
Born in Salem Oregon to Ernest and Rachel.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Rachel, Grandparents as well as other family members.
Steve is survived by wife Christine, brothers Dennis (Debra) Doug (Marilyn) many in laws, and several nieces and nephews.
Steve retired from the United States Air Force after serving 21 years. He wore his uniform with great pride and was proud to serve his Country.
Following his Air Force career he worked in hardware retail sales.
Steve was a member of the VFW post 2224 and Eagles 2308. Steve decided that the VFW needed to have Taco Thursday so with the help of family and friends Taco Thursday was born.
To Steve everyone was a friend. He was dedicated to his wife of 28 years. Steven enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with family and friends. He loved taking family and friends water skiing and if he called you and said Hit-It you knew the boat was ready and meet you at the lake. Steve was also a big fan of Nascar and attended races in Las Vegas.
If there was a Nascar race on TV Steve was watching it.
People always said Steve was the most compassionate, caring person they knew and he was loved by all.
Steve hope you hit the Jackpot at the big casino in the sky.
Rest in Peace Steve you are no longer in pain or suffering you will be missed .
