Steven F. Albers' Obituary
Stephen Ferris Albers
Steve was born December 26th, 1951, the first of five (Randy, Bill, Joe, and Jeff) boys to Homer and Marcene Albers. To his family, Steve is the "Ironman". He was the motivator, the mentor, the brother, in shortOur "Rock". He began his early childhood chasing the internal boy scout, adventure, and thrill. For 60 years he continued that pursuit. He recently celebrated his 24th wedding anniversary with his wife and best friend, Donna. He is the beloved father of two, Chris and Ashley, with a recent grand-child, Brayden, to extend his legacy. In 1985 he founded Albers & Company. Steve was an active member in our com-munity, partaking in: Rotary, Tacoma Goodwill, United Way of Pierce County, Boys and Girls Club, American Leader-ship Forum, City Club, and Pierce County Library and its foundation. By most, he was perceived as one who succeeded in work and community activism, but he is most remembered by his intense love for play, love of family, and his big smile. Steve was an avid mountaineer and shared the 1/7 summits of Rainer with his son. He loved to travel, he loved to karaoke- "you've lost that loving feeling" renditions were a classic, he loved the game of golf, and he recently immersed himself in the sport of cycling. Steve passed away the evening of July 27th from injuries during a cycling accident in the Ramrod. His memory and thirst for life will continue on with the many who love him dearly. The celebration of his life will begin Tuesday the 31st of July at 3pm at the Fircrest Golf Club. All who love Steve are welcome to come and celebrate his life and share their stories. Donations can be made to: United Way of Pierce County, Boys and Girls Club of South Puget Sound, Greater Lakes Mental Health-care, or Pierce County Library Foundation.
