Steve Clavero Alura's Obituary
Steve Clavero Alura, 55, passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2017 in University Place, WA to reunite with his mother Flordeliza and father Rudolfo Alura. Steve was one of four children born in Tacoma, Washington on April 22nd, 1962. After the passing of his father at the early age, like his father before him, he took it upon himself to defend his family and decided to join the military. However, he wanted to be different than everyone else and chose to join the few, the proud, the Marines.
Stationed in Subic Bay, Olongapo City, Philippines, he met the love of his life, Mher, whom he later married in 1988. The following year, their son Andrew (AJ) was born. After being honorably discharged as a Gulf War Veteran in 1992, he moved his family from Yuma, Arizona, to be closer to his mother, siblings, and friends in Tacoma, Washington. Shortly after his son, Steve Jr. was born and 2 years later, his daughter Cassandra.
As a husband and a father of three, he worked for the US Postal Service, Department of Defense, and the Federal Aviation Administration. He demonstrated duty, honor, strength, courage, reliability, and respect. He was a serious and disciplined man, but he could never resist the opportunity to have a laugh with friends and loved ones, given half the chance.
Steve is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mher, son Andrew (AJ), son Steve Jr., daughter Cassandra, brothers Robert and Eddie, and sister Linda.
