Stephen G. Bisson
Stephen G. Bisson passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 5, 2009.
Steve was born on November 30, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York. Steve served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. From 1966 to 1973, Steve worked at Boeing. He loved anything to do with airplanes and had a wealth of knowledge about any World War II airplane.
Steve proudly served the citizens of Pierce County as a Sergeant with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department for 33 years from June 1973 to March 2006. Steve worked tirelessly for 7 Sheriffs, including Sheriff Janovitch, Sheriff Smith, Sheriff Fjetland, Sheriff Robbins, Sheriff Shields, Sheriff French, and Sheriff Pastor. During his years with the Sheriff's Department, Steve's work ethic remained a constant for his fellow Deputies. Steve mentored hundreds of current and former members of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, whose stories are too numerous to imagine.
Steve was an avid photographer and Cobra car enthusiast. He and his wife Eileen enjoyed countless local and international travels such as Western Washington, Canada, Scotland and Ireland to take pictures of the scenery together. Steve and Eileen also enjoyed many day and weekend trips in the Cobra and their trips with fellow Cobra enthusiasts in the Cobra club.
Steve is survived by his wife, Eileen, and his children Stephen (Christina) Bisson and Jody (Tim) Tucker, and his former wife, Kathy. He is survived by his grandchildren Amber and Travis Tucker and Julie and Mikayla Bisson. Steve is also survived by his mother, Margaret Bisson, of New Jersey, three sisters Jane Bisson of New Jersey, Marian Baker of Delaware, and Claire (Rich) Trauger of Tennessee, and two brothers, Bob (Loretta) Bisson of New Jersey and Chris Bisson of New Jersey. The large Morrison family embraced Steve, and he is survived by his mother-in-law, Patricia Morrison of Port Angeles, Washington, and Eileen's siblings, Kathleen (Steve) Grover, Mary (Roy) Tanaka, Carrie Morrison, Colin (Mitzi) Morrison, John Morrison, and Barbara (Glenn) McFall, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Services are arranged by Mountain View Funeral Home. On Wednesday, August 12, 2009, a public viewing will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a private family viewing to follow. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lakewood located at 5602 -" 112th St SW, Lakewood, Washington, 98499. A reception will follow at the church. Graveside services will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery.
