Stephen Anthony DeMark's Obituary
Steve DeMark, 74, of Tacoma was born March 4, 1942 and passed away unexpectedly on Jan 2, 2017. He was preceded in death by his first wife Carole, young son Todd, beloved mother, Margaret Hestand, and ex-wife Darlene. He is survived by children Eric, Troy (Cheryl), and Therese (Mike); grandchildren Taylor, Marco, and Talia Carlson and Zachary DeMark; sister Joanne Ames and the love his life, fiancé Sue Meyerdierk.
He graduated from Lincoln High and Bates Technical College. He started his first business Royal Painting and after losing that to a fire, he opened Delta Paining and Prefinishing in Lakewood, WA where his business continues. Steve was also a highly successful entrepreneur with real estate investments.
Steve’s hobbies were collecting classic cars, spending time at the beach with his family, and trips to Mexico where he made many friends. It brought Steve a tremendous amount of joy to help those less fortunate. Steve will be greatly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Tacoma Yacht Club on January 21, 2017 at 1pm. 5401 Yacht Club Rd, Tacoma, WA 98402. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank (3543 E McKinley Ave, Tacoma, WA 98404) which was Steve’s favorite charity.
