Dear Children, Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren of Val and Stan Rober,
My husband David and I moved into a duplex across from Val and Stan in Yuba City in 1983. We were very young, just out of college, and had no friends nor family in Yuba City. Val and Stan were great friends and took us “under their wings” helping us to adjust to being in Yuba City. We had many dinners with us and we valued their friendship and moral support. They were both very special to us.

I don’t believe I can put into words how amazing of a man Uncle Stan was! I was blessed enough to have the opportunity to assist his kids in caring for auntie Val along side Stan, who so accurately put, called her sweetie. Although I was there to help, Stan helped me in so many ways! We became very close as we would make meals, do dishes together or just spend time talking about his grandkids (as he would share photos or other information about my cousins from What’s app.) He would tell me about his adventures and work on the planes. Or show me newly discovered vegetables from his garden. He liked to listen to Terry’s podcasts at night and wear his white t shirt and white socks with slippers during the day. Since my grandpa had passed he become almost like a surrogate and when we would text he would often end it with-love Gramps. This always warmed my heart ❤️ It is still surreal knowing he is gone. Family gatherings won’t be the same without him. I miss him so very much. Stan epitomized integrity, love, kindness and generosity. I loved his practical ways and desire to learn and grow. I’m having trouble even grasping that grandpa is gone, but thank you to all of you who have left memories here and for the amazing obituary, mom. I hope you all know how loved you are. I know if anyone knew my grandpa, they knew love in it’s purest form other than God himself. Rest well grandpa. I’m excited to spend eternity with you and grandma one day 💜
Stan was so welcoming to us and helped us know the Bures relatives out here. We remember some of his stories fondly. We remember his flowers and carefully cared for yard.

What a blessing Stan was to the body of Christ! Although I don’t remember him well from when I was a child, I did have some interesting conversations with him here on FB. He worked on the L-1011 project which I also worked on...only years later. I pray God will give comfort and peace that passes understanding to you, his family. Knowing he is with the Lord he loved is wonderful, however, I know he will be very missed. Blessings to all of you as you continue on...may you be flooded with wonderful memories as the days go by.

Stan was one who loved well. I have such fond memories of him as a teenager and yes, even then, he loved well. It was a delight when he and Val visited us in The Netherlands when we lived there. And he took the time to continue communicating via Facebook and email until just a short while ago. He will always have such a sweet place in my heart and will be dearly missed by all. Prayers for all his family and friends as we tuck those memories away and allow the grief to turn in to sweetness.
I was blessed to know this family from Osborne Neighborhood Church in California. If I recall correctly Stan was one my Sunday School teach in my youth. Our thoughts and prayers to the family!! God Bless!!

So sorry for your loss, Shannon.
I am Stan's 2nd cousin (my mother Dawn Fox was his 1st cousin) but Stan was more like an uncle to me and I have never known a kinder or more gracious person than Stan.
We shared much history together . . . both aattending Clover Park Vocational Technical school for an A & P mechanics license and both becoming pilots with many years flying in the aviation industry.
Whenever I would visit Stan our conversation would usually include a lot of "hanger talk" much to our shared delight.
I will greatly miss my wonderful aviation "soul mate" Stan knowing that we will meet again one day to continue our . . . "hanger talks" together.
