Stanais Maltezos' Obituary
Stanais Maltezos, passed away peacefully at Franciscan Hospice, Tacoma, WA on August 19, 2010. His wife of 60 years, Ilse Maltezos, was at his side. Mr. Maltezos was born August 5, 1921, at Fall River, Massachusetts. He graduated from the local high school. Stanais enlisted in the Army in 1940 and was at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He retired from active service as a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Air Force in 1967. His military service included the Pacific WWII, Germany, Newfoundland, and Turkey. Stateside service included Oklahoma, Texas, Nevada and Illinois. Following his military service, he established Tannen Haus Kennel in Spanaway, WA, where he pursued his passion of training dogs. He enjoyed field trial competitions and was active in the hunting and fishing community. Stanais met his lifelong love, Ilse Roth in H chst am Main Germany and they married in January of 1950. They adopted their son Michael and daughter Michelle while stationed in Turkey. Both children preceded him in death. Stanais is survived by his sister Margaret Krick (Chicago, IL) and nephew Paul Chirdon (Portland, OR).
