Sophia Rae Gerry's Obituary
Sophia Rae Gerry passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 9. She was born on August 6, 2010 at Fort Hood, Texas and moved with her family to Joint Base Lewis McChord in 2013.
Sophia had a determined spirit and especially enjoyed riding the school bus, cheering on the Boston Bruins and snuggling with her family. She lived her life with grace and perseverance and taught those close to her to cherish the little things in life.
She leaves behind her parents, Brian and Amy; two sisters, Misty Rose and Gracelin; grandparents, Barry and Sarah Bernard, Ken Gerry and Judy Gerry; great-grandmothers, Avis Robinson and Thelma Voutour; aunts, Melissa Bernard and Jennifer and Kimberly Gerry; and numerous extended family members and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to all the care givers who helped Sophia along her journey.
A celebration of Sophia’s life will take place when the family returns to Maine.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the local children’s hospital of your choice.
