Sonny Brossoit's Obituary
Sonny (LaVerne) Brossoit Of Tacoma, a man who deeply loved his family, passed away peacefully January 7, 2012. Sonny was born February 16, 1941 to Josephine and LaVerne Brossoit in St. Ignatius, MT. Sonny was a sharp, artistic, hard-working, playful, articulate, honest, spiritual, and accepting person. He was a self-made man with a life to be admired. Sonny was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He was a member of the Flathead Tribe in MT, and also closely tied to the Puyallup Tribe as a Community Member. He volunteered many hours on various projects at the Puyallup Reservation. He was a regular member of the Canoe Family and Sweat Lodge. Sonny also volunteered for Metro Parks. He kept a close eye over the treasured trails in Pt. Defiance Park, which he walked every day for well over 30 years. Sonny loved the great outdoors and inspired many others to appreciate the beauty in nature. His hobbies included gardening, wood-working, cars, and motorcycles. Sonny is survived by his daughter Jennifer Brossoit, sister Darlene and brother-in-law Larry Gibbs, best friend Kathleen Brossoit, nephews Rick and Kevin Gibbs, and numerous cousins. Memorial services at 2:00pm on Tues., January 24th, 2012, Mountain View Celebration Life Center, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA.
