Sivasa Fiu's Obituary
Sivasa "Joe" Fiu, Jr.
Born on March 7, 1960 in American Samoa, he left us on March 9, 2009. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was devoted to caring for his family and friends. He joined the US Army at 18 and retired after serving 23 years. While stationed at Ft. Lewis, he met his wife of 20 years, Carole M. (Whiteman) Underwood. Retiring to Tacoma, he enjoyed his family and friends. He loved BBQing in the back yard and going fishing. He worked for FedEx a number of years. Sivasa joins his father, uncles, and his sister. Survived by his wife, his mother Palepa Sofai Matuu, 2 brothers, his sister, son Anthony [partner Yvette], daughters Jennette and Tiana, grandchildren Josef (Joey), Stephanie (Jade), Justice, Britney, Jessica and Allie, as well as aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to the FedEx family for all their love and support. Services will be held March 14, 2009 at 11am in the Mountain View Valley Chapel in Lakewood. Remembrance gathering to follow.
