Siolotuli Toaetolu's Obituary
"Siolotuli Sila’ila’i Lee Toaetolu was born on October 29th, 1957, in Satapuala, Samoa. He passed away on September 8th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories.
Siolotuli was the beloved son of Sila'ila'i Tuiletufuga Talamaivao and Faletolu Toilolo Toaetolu. He grew up in a large family with eight siblings.
On April 10th, 1981, Siolotuli married Teresa Kelleher, with whom he had five children. Though their paths later parted, they shared many years together, and he continued to be a dedicated father. On January 16th, 1999, he remarried Peteri Veniale and lovingly embraced her two sons, raising them as his own. Together, they created a beautiful, blended family that brought him immense joy. Siolotuli was also a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Siolotuli’s educational path was unique. He left school after the 8th grade, but despite not completing his formal education, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and build a better future. He achieved the American dream, buying a home and securing stable employment throughout his life, proving that success comes in many forms.
In the late 1980s, Siolotuli served as a sheriff for Modoc County, California, and he later worked at various warehouses before retiring from Nucor Steel Mill in West Seattle as a steel operator. His strong work ethic and dedication to his family were always at the forefront of his career. Siolotuli was proud of his ability to provide for his children, ensuring they had the opportunities he did not.
Siolotuli’s passions extended beyond work. He loved food and could often be found critiquing dishes like a true connoisseur. His hobbies included playing dominoes, listening to Samoan songs and oldies, and enjoying time at the casino playing three-card poker or slots. He was also an avid fan of Bruce Lee and spent countless hours watching kung fu movies. Siolotuli cherished family time, playing card games like Spades and poker with his children, sons-in-law, and grandchildren, creating memories that will last forever.
His personality was magnetic. Siolotuli had a gift for storytelling, and his presence filled any room with laughter and warmth. He never sugarcoated his words, always keeping it real, but he had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome. His charismatic and larger-than-life personality made him the center of attention at gatherings, and his sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Siolotuli’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out with love and support during this difficult time. Your prayers, kind words, and shared memories have brought us comfort and strength."
