Sierra Satini Samifua's Obituary
Sierra Satini Samifua was born on December 5, 1952 in American Samoa, in the village called Aua, the home of Paepaeulu Po’o. Born to Tafea and Laulautasi Samifua, he had 7 sisters and 5 brothers. As a child he was known to be a trouble maker and a street fighter. When he got older he joined the United States Marine Corps and served 4 years.
After serving in the Marines, in 1977 he met and married his wife Faanimo Samifua in San Francisco, California, and they eventually had 4 children and 18 grandchildren. He provided for his family working at the Navy Ship yard as a welder for many years. Satini loved and was overly protective of his family. Not only did for his wife, children and grandchildren but also for his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
In the 1990’s Satini gave his life to God, his desire and passion to live for God grew progressively throughout the years. He enjoyed serving his Church and cooking many different recipes. He taught his family the importance of putting God first and to always pray over everything.
Satini also loved his sports teams, the San Francisco 49’ers, San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warrior. WOOT WOOT! He never missed a game and was a true fan of those teams.
Satini was fearless, outspoken, well known and well respected by his family, as well as by many others. Satini fought his whole life, but the hardest battle he fought, was trying to stay alive from the multiple medical conditions he faced over the years. On April 15, 2016, God felt Sierra Satini Samifua fought long enough and called him home and gave him rest and peace.
Sierra Satini Samifua may be remembered as the Alpha but in the eyes of everyone who knew him and his heart; HE IS A BRAVE WARRIOR.
