Shwu-Chyun Lee's Obituary
11/22/1949 – 8/30/2025
The sound of a sizzling wok and a burst of easy laughter always meant Shwu-Chyun Lee was nearby, ready to feed both stomach and spirit. He knew how to turn a simple meal into a family moment, and that gift stayed with everyone who crowded around his kitchen.
Born in Tainam, Taiwan, Shwu-Chyun was the cherished son of Chin-Hua Lee and Sue Wa Hua Lee. Their hard work and warmth shaped the gentle confidence he carried throughout his 75 years.
A love of travel took him far beyond his hometown, yet he never lost the sparkle of discovery. Whether swapping stories on a crowded train or teasing his children in a new city, his humor opened doors and hearts wherever he went.
Shwu-Chyun trained as a chef and took special pride in Chinese cuisine, perfecting each flavor with the care of a craftsman. When the stove cooled, he moved to his woodworking bench, turning plain boards into sturdy tables where many future meals would be shared.
His greatest joy was life at home in Lakewood, Washington with his wife Ann Yu-Ying Huang. He beamed at every mention of his children: Teng-Li Lee, Chia Shing, and Teng-Cheng “Brandon” Lee, grateful for the laughter and purpose they gave him.
We will remember Shwu-Chyun whenever a well-seasoned pan hisses or a fresh-cut plank smells of cedar. His steady hands, warm jokes, and unending love stay with us, and we promise to keep gathering around the table he set for us all.
