Shirley Ann Luckett's Obituary
June 19th, 2020 Shirley affectionately known to her family and others as “Lady Bug” “Mama” “Grandma” or simply “Granny” departed this earth gaining her crown at the young age of 64.
Born May 17th, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Will and Mary Bullitt, she was the baby of ten children. Shirley has ALWAYS been the SPOILED one of the bunch. Growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana she attended public schools. She had a “FIESTY” “FIRECRACKER” spirit about herself and continued to keep that spirit all her life. October of 1971, Shirley met the love of her life Wallace Luckett Sr. and they were inseparable. August 12th, 1978 Shirley and Wallace Sr. entered a union in which the produced three children: Derrick, Lalita, and Wallace Jr. Over the years our Queen enjoyed traveling, buying souvenirs, collecting maps and buying her lotto tickets along the way. She LOVED going to bingo, bowling, the casino, and playing board games with the family, especially Scrabble and Trouble. As the years passed her favorite things; to gather whoever she was able to sit down with and watch the “ID Discovery channel” with her for HOURS; she valued her time with her family, most of all spending every chance she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our Queen would do ANYTHING for her family no matter what, especially her grandbabies, she was honored to have the, and cherished them all as a gift. Shirley Ann Luckett, the BEST mother, BEST grandma, BEST granny, BEST great grandma and Queen to our family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, two brothers and many other family members and friends. Leaving behind to cherish and honor her memory always, two sisters Pauline East and Carol Johnson (David), husband Wallace Luckett Sr, children Derrick Luckett, Lalita Luckett, Wallace Luckett Jr (Chante), ten grandchildren Denzel, LaKia, Sakile, Sierra, Dre’QuellSr, Mosha, Trevien, Jmari, Jmyah and Ja’ona. Seven great grandchildren Denzel Jr, RJ, Dre’Quell Jr, Amir, Zari, Zay and her first great grand daughter on the way Samaria, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
