I don't think I've ever met a sweeter or more loving person than Shirley. She was so open and kind, always. When we visited her in the group home, she came to the door and though I'm sure she didn't know who I was, she was full of loving greetings for even a "stranger." Truly a remarkable human being and we are all richer for having had her in our lives.

I worked at Tacoma General with Shirley. I was a new X-ray tech and she was working in radiation therapy. I remember her special smile and cheerful demeanor. We shared the same general area of birth. I am from Saskachewan, a small town 30 miles north of Scobey. We shared many times about that area. She was a lovely person with a great patient advocate.

Shirley was like a second mother to me for the 6 years we lived almost next door. I remember many happy times playing at her house with Carey and Mark, having cookouts in the backyard, bouncing on the giant innertube, eating snickerdoodles.
