Shirley Hawk's Obituary
Shirley J. Hawk June 14th 1928-September 19th 2011 Shirley was born and raised in Seattle, WA. She graduated from Lincoln High School and married the only love of her life, William Hawk, in 1946. Shirley was the founder and first president of the Children's Orthopedic Phebe Thompson Guild in Seattle. She was also a founding member of Tacoma's Lochburn Garden Club. Shirley was always active in the Custer School PTA where she served as treasurer, and at Bowlero Lanes where she was a fixture at league games supporting Bill's teams and serving as league treasurer on several occasions. Shirley and Bill enjoyed strutting their stuff at the Interlaken and Lakewood dance clubs. She worked at Lakewood's Villa Plaza for 17 years for Rhodes, Liberty House, and then Fredrick and Nelson. She enjoyed many crafts, skiing, gambling in Reno and doing just about anything with Bill. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Bill, grandson Jed Chaffeur, and son-in-law Ray Cyr. Shirley is survived by her brother Robert (Linda) Lingenbrink, their children, daughter Susan Cyr, son Bill Hawk (Mindy), granddaughter Kelly Edwards (Sam), grandsons Jeff and Kevin Hawk, great-granddaughters Emery and Evelyn Edwards, and special friend Ellen O'Rourke. No memorial services will be held. Arrangements by Mountain View funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Humane Society in Shirley's name.
