Shirley May Gobeyn's Obituary
Shirley passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2023 with family. She was originally from upstate New York and was one of fourteen children. After years of traveling with her husband James while he served in the Air Force, the family retired to Lakewood, WA where she worked various retail positions until her retirement. After James passed away in January 2019, she lived with family in Lakewood. Shirley was a longtime member of the Methodist Church of Lakewood. She is survived by a sister, Gladys Cowles, 4 children (Gerald Gobeyn, Lucinda and her husband John Overton, Holly Bianchi, and Mark and his wife Susan Gobeyn) as well as 7 grandchildren (Jeremy, Michelle, James, Vanessa, James, Stephen, and Mitch), and 5 great-grandchildren (Olivia, Ousainou, Hailey, Spencer, and Logan). She was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
