Sherry J Meyer's Obituary
Sherry Meyer, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 16th at the age of 70. Raised in University Place, Washington, Sherry was a graduate of Curtis High School. Sherry was a woman of many passions and talents. Her green thumb earned her the title of Master Gardener, and her vibrant flower beds were a testament to her love of gardening. Sherry was dedicated to cultivating enough produce to sustain herself through three seasons. Sherry really had a zest for being outdoors. She basked in the sun and spent countless hours camping and beach combing with her family and friends. A true animal lover, Sherry's home was always open to furry friends, so much so that Jefferson elementary school visited her home for a field trip to the “zoo”.
Sherry was also an incredible athlete, playing powder puff football with the boys, an avid golfer that often came in under par, and the owner and first basemen of The Force baseball team, where they won multiple championships. When she wasn’t playing sports she was watching football. She found joy in doing stained glass, discussing numerology, or enjoying a plate of fish and chips with loved ones.
Christmas was her favorite time of year, and her home would be filled with Santa Claus figurines and a Christmas tree that she would cut down herself! Regularly she would crochet beanies for her children and grandchildren that everyone cherished. A snowfall would bring out the child in her, filling her with delight.
More than anything, Sherry was a devoted family woman. Her home was a haven for her loved ones, a place filled with warmth. She was the protector of her family, always there to offer a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. Her generosity knew no bounds; she would literally give you the shirt off her back, or her very last dollar, without a second thought. Sherry's warm heart and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy will forever be etched in our hearts. She is survived by her 4 children, Matt and Margie, Josh and Jessica, Ben and Monica, and Mollie; 6 grandchildren, Jake, Calvin, Ashley, Gavin, Seth, and Floyd; and a great-grandchild, August.
