Shawna L. Denault's Obituary
Shawna Lynn Denault, age 47, of Yelm, Washington, passed away August 24, 2018 in Fort Lewis, WA.
Shawna was born to Gordon Allison and Shirley Thordsen (Fields) on December 5, 1970 in Granada Hills, California, she was the youngest of two children. Shawna graduated from Royal High School in Simi Valley, California.
After graduation, she served in the U.S.Army from 1991 to 1995 deploying to Somalia. She attained the rank of SPC and received the following medals; Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal 2nd Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award and Air Forces Expeditionary Medal. Shawna married Jason Denault in 1993. She and Jason had two children, Gatlin and Taylor, upon which were the two most important moments of her life and watching them grow.
Shawna lived in Yelm, Washington.
Shawna was stubborn, kind, unique, loved and determined. She loved movies, 80’s hair metal music, the casino and spending time with family and friends at the beach.
Shawna is survived by her children; Son, Gatlin Denault and Daughter, Taylor Denault and their father Jason Denault; her Mother, Shirley Thordsen and stepfather Joe Thordsen of Colorado Springs, CO and her Father, Gordon Allison and Stepmother Diane Allison of Biloxi, MS; Grandmother, Leona Brecheen; her Sisters, Lisa Davis and Stacey White of Biloxi, MS; Niece, Dara Parker; Nephews, Tres White; Special friends Tom and Jodi Terwilliger and Dena Riezinstein. She will be deeply missed.
A committal ceremony for Shawna will be held 11:30 A.M. Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington.
