Sharon Kaye Olson's Obituary
Sharon K. Olson (Braga), 81 of Tacoma, Washington passed away on August 17, 2025, at Tacoma General Hospital.
She was born on February 9, 1944, to parents Anna Jane Marie Hansen and Kenneth M. Braga in Valley City, North Dakota. She grew up in South Tacoma with her sisters; Lynda and Barbara and her brother, Bruce.
After graduating from Mount Tahoma High School in 1962, Sharon went on to work at North Pacific Bank in Tacoma for several years.
Sharon worked for the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department for many years as an Office Assistant. She retired at age 60 and was able to spend her time working in her garden, playing with her grandkids and relishing the ability to have free time to do whatever she wished.
Sharon’s passions included sewing, hiking, camping and gardening. She liked the simple things in life such as visiting with family and being outside enjoying nature. She also loved animals such as dogs, cats, birds and horses.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, and her surviving immediate family includes her daughter, Christine (husband Joe) and their children Brian (wife Lily), and Valerie as well as her daughter Marcia (husband Daniel), and their children James Ryan and Eric.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery. Services in the Aspen Chapel will be at 2:00pm with a graveside service to follow. A reception will be held from 3:00 to 5:00pm in the Oak Room following the graveside service. Please bring your best memories of Sharon to share with family and friends. There will be note cards available to write your memories in memoriam.
