Sharon Lee Henderson's Obituary
Sharon Lee Henderson
A lifetime resident of Tacoma, Sharon, surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2008. She was born in Tacoma on July 17, 1941, to Ivan and Garnett Ward. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1959, she married Gerald "Jerry" Henderson, her loving husband of 49 years. Sharon would always say she had the best of both worlds, being able to stay home and raise her children before she began her career in Food Services for Multi-Care Medical Services. She retired in 2003 after 29 years at Multi-Care. Sharon is survived by her sister Arlene, her husband of 49 years, Jerry, two children: Michael of Tacoma, WA and Carie (Ken) McNamee of Ellensburg, WA; six grandchildren: Cori (Rich), Jessica, Nick, Sarah, Kasey, and Matthew; two great-grandchildren: Ryin and Rich. Sharon loved spending time with her family, sewing, and fishing and clam digging with Jerry. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church, where she loved and enjoyed her church family. Sharon had a gift to always see the good in everyone she met, and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Mountain View Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church, 8401 112th Street E., Puyallup. A graveside service will be held following the memorial service at 3:30 p.m. for family and close friends at Mountain View Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or Franciscan Hospice. For further details, visit www.mountainviewtacoma.com .
