Sharon Harris' Obituary
Sharon K. Harris
Sharon K. Harris passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday August 12th, 2012 after a 14-year battle with leukemia. She just celebrated her 70th birthday on July 12th. She was born in Iowa but lived her life in Puyallup. She grew up and worked in her Father's lath mill for 20 years. Soon after graduating from Puyallup High School she married and had two daughters, Dolly and Sheryl Harris. Sharon led a life of charity as a long-standing member of The Rebekah Assembly, Royal Neighbors of America and The National Grange and also a member of the Manitou Presbyterian Church. Sharon retired in January from the Pierce County Auditor's office. She began as a volunteer and then became a core member providing 18 years of service. Sharon loved playing games, dancing and Elvis, but most importantly being with friends and family. Sharon is survived by her brother Charles "Sonny" England, daughters Dolly Day and Sheryl Smith, grandchildren Jessica, Nicholas and Sean Day, great-grandchildren Connor and Amber Miller and her beloved Lab-Newfound-land Roxy. Please come celebrate Sharon's life this Saturday, August 18th at the Mountain View Memorial Funeral Park in Lakewood. 253-584-0252 http://mountainviewtacoma.com Service will be at 10 AM in the Valley Chapel followed by a reception in Celebration of Life Willow Room. You can visit Sharon privately on Friday 8/17 between 4 and 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to help with service expenses are appreciated and can be made directly to Mt. View. Our "Honey" and "Sweetheart" will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
