Sharlene Hooper's Obituary
Sharlene Hesper (Kaufman) Hooper was born 1/31/1954 and passed away 3/11/2014 of natural causes after a lengthy battle with rheumatoid lung.
Sharlene was born in Bremerton, WA to Joseph and Nesta Kaufman (Cadwell). She attended Mt. Tahoma High School in Tacoma, graduating in 1972. She went on to Tacoma Community College and obtained her Nursing Degree in 1977. Sharlene loved being a nurse and spent most of her career working at Western State Hospital.
Sharlene married Edward Hooper in 1979. Together they had 3 daughters. However, Sharlene and Edward had the great joy of expanding their family through their loving and giving spirit and heart to many other children.
Sharlene was a loving wife, mother, memaw, aunt, niece, sister and friend. She loved to do arts and crafts and was an avid cross-stitcher making all of her grandchildren blankets to sleep with. She also enjoyed camping, writing penpals all over the world and being with her family most of all her grandchildren.
Sharlene is preceeded in death by both of her parents and older brothers Robert Clark and James Kaufman along with older sister Delores Paul (Clark). And survived by her husband of 35 years, Edward. Along with her children Saundra McGinnis, Kassondra (Kole) Barrow, Kirstyn (Carl) Soderberg and Kelsey Hooper her grandchildren DeVanie, Amanda, Elisiah, Neela, Spencer, Christoper, and Olivia and 2 great grandchildren Brody and Taylor. Also 3 older siblings and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
