Sharlene C. Bonham's Obituary
Sharlene Carol Bonham, 79, originally of Tacoma, WA, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lawton, OK, on March 25th, 2019. She is survived by her son Steven Bonham, his wife, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Sharlene, daughter of William and Alma Abel, and loving partner of George D. Garrett, graduated from Stadium High School(Tacoma, WA) Class of 1957, and moved on to college thereafter. She worked as Budget Analyst for the Civil Service/Department of Defense until retirement, bringing her love for adventure and traveling all over the world with her family and friends.
While attending college and working in her first professional job, Sharlene met her future husband and U.S. Serviceman, Leroy Bonham. They married November 21, 1959, and had two children; Stephanie L. Bonham (1961), and Steven L. Bonham (1963). She took great pride in being a loving wife and mother while working hard at her career. Sharlene received several commendations from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Government, and Civil Service.
Sharlene loved reading books, as well as volksmarching, solving puzzle books, knitting, a variety of other crafts, cleaning, traveling, and visiting her family and friends. Her wonderful spirit, love, joy, and many talents will be celebrated, as well as missed by her family, extended family, and friends.
