Please accept my most sincere condolences regarding your families loss of Shannon. Your expressions about her are very touching and move me to leave you this note. Even with a firm hope for the future, death is still accurately described as an enemy in the bible at 1 Corinthians 15:26. We can't help but feel the void when someone we love dies.
In recent years when my family has suffered loss, I have really appreciated the firm hope for the future that the bible so vividly describes. First the assurance that God cares deeply for each of us and wants us to throw our burdens upon him (Psalms 55:22; 1 Peter 5:7). Next the promise that Jesus himself highlighted In John 5:25-29..."the hour is coming in which all those in the grave will hear his (the son of God) voice and come out..." What a great joy millions of families on the earth will enjoy! And the best part? As expressed in Revelation 21:4 death, mourning and pain will be no more. What an amazing comfort for all of us today.
