Seth Michael Stoltenberg's Obituary
Seth M. Stoltenberg, 41, of Puyallup, Washington, passed away on November 15, 2023. He was born on March 24, 1982, in Tacoma, Washington. Seth was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Seth had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. He was well known for his friendliness and could strike up a conversation with anybody. He loved to talk and always had a joke ready to make others laugh. Seth had a passion for comedy movies, including "Tommy Boy," anything Adam Sandler, "Dumb and Dumber," and "The Office." He cherished moments of laughter and believed in the power of a good laugh.
Seth was a man of faith and credited the Lord for getting him through his time in the military. He served in the Army from June 24, 2006, through June 26, 2014, and was a former Sergeant. Seth's dedication to his country was admirable and was recognized by his medals and the awards that he earned while on tour in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He carried the lessons he learned and braved the permanent scars that he incurred during his military service throughout his life.
As an excellent Carpenter, Seth loved tackling various projects. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends, even dedicating his weekends and evenings to assist those in need. He had a deep love for his family and enjoyed making jokes, saying heartfelt prayers, and engaging in conversations about sports.
Seth's love for his wife Amy was immeasurable. Despite being married for just under four years, they created a lifetime of happiness together. They embarked on exciting adventures, traveled, and shared the love of a great steak. Their bond was strong, and their time together was filled with such love and joy.
In addition to his wife Amy, Seth is survived by his son Ayden Steffens, his mother Sally West and wife Allie, his father Michael Stoltenberg and wife Kellie, his paternal grandparents Marvin and Pauline Stoltenberg, his sister Kim Stoltenberg and partner Rubee Gonzalez, their children Isaiah and Mariah Gonzalez, his sister Shannon Neeley, children Sam and Molly, and brother-in-law Mitch, his sister Angie Walker and husband Chad, their children Collin, Kyle, Jacob, Andrew, and Addie, his stepbrothers Chris Wagner and wife Megan, and Eric Wagner.
Seth's educational journey included attending Firgrove Elementary for primary school, Tacoma Baptist and graduating from Roger's High School in 2000 for his high school education, and Renton Technical College for the Northwest Carpenter's Journeyman program.
Seth's career was diverse and impactful. He worked as a Northwest Union Carpenter until November 2023, alongside being a Certified Welder from July 2022 to November 2023. Before that, he served as an ER tech at Mary Bridge from 2005-2006, a Medic for Rural Metro ambulance company from 2003-2004, and a Volunteer EMT Firefighter in North Puyallup and Riverside from 2001 to 2005.
Seth found solace and community at New Hope Church in Puyallup, where he worshipped.
Outside of his professional life, Seth had a wide range of hobbies and interests. He was an avid football fan, supporting the Seahawks and the WSU Cougars. He also enjoyed playing Fantasy Football and following the Kraken's hockey team. Seth loved hunting with a bow and arrow, and in his younger years, he enjoyed snowboarding and wakeboarding. He had a passion for movies, particularly enjoying anything Marvel, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. Seth was also skilled in boating and had a deep understanding of all things mechanical.
A memorial service to celebrate Seth's life will be held at Lighthouse Christian Center, 3409 23rd St SW, Puyallup, WA 98373, on December 15th at 2 pm. Prior to the service, a viewing will take place at Mountain View Funeral home on December 14th, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Additionally, in honor of Seth's struggles with PTSD, as a result of his service in Iraq and Afghanistan, donations can be made to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. This organization provides healing and restoration for veterans suffering from PTSD and offers personalized services to address their unique needs. The Tacoma Rescue Mission is the only designated shelter space for veterans and works in partnership with Veterans Affairs.

Seth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His sense of humor, kindness, and willingness to help others will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace.
