Selma W. Muller's Obituary
Selma W. Muller was born May 15, 1900 in McMillan, WA. Married in 1944 to Will Muller who later died in 1973. They had no children.Selma was a graduate of the University of Oregon, Eugene, in 1924. She completed post graduate work and was a teaching fellow in the German Department at the Univ. of Washington, Seattle. Her teaching experience ranged from grades 1-8 in a one-room school house to classes at U.W. She later retired from Lincoln High School in Tacoma after 37 years of teaching.Selma has been a part of the National Association of Teachers of German since 1924 and was also a member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. In the 1980Â's she was nationally known for translating old German script. This work earned her the State Ethnic Heritage Award in 1990. She was a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was active in the American Lutheran WomenÂ's Organization. She is survived by nephew and nieces Armin and Carolyn Rosin, Auburn, and Margaret Rosin, Kelso, WA.Services will be held at 2pm, Saturday April 5, 2003 at Peace Lutheran Church, 2106 S. Cushman Ave., Tacoma.
