Sebastiana (Ann) Lipera's Obituary
Ann was born to Sicilian immigrants, loved to comb the beaches of the Puget Sound and had a serious weakness for chocolate.Ann King, 89, died on June 28, 2005.She was born June 23, 1916 in Tacoma, WA to Anna and Sam Lipera who emigrated from Sicily, Italy.She attended Horace Mann Elementary, Stewart Junior High, and graduated in 1934 from Lincoln High School.She balanced work while raising three boys and maintaining good friends. Using her education from Knapp Business College, she worked as a secretary at the State Capital in Olympia, for NC Machinery in Tukwila, in TacomaÂ's Urban Renewal office and Fire Department, and she assisted in the familyÂ's electrical business.After retirement, she and her husband moved to Vaughn, WA and lived just steps away from a sparkling cove on Puget Sound. She made any plant flourish, traveled to Italy to visit her cousins, cooked wonderful Italian meals for family and friends and loved to dance. She was a wonderful role model for her family, had a positive attitude and relished every moment of her life. Her family will remember her when they make Italian sausage together each fall, eat pasta for Christmas dinner, plant basil every spring and dig clams on a warm summer afternoon.She was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. King and is survived by her sons Dennis (Mary) King, Gary (Linda) King, Marty (Mary Beth) King and six grandchildren Fred (Kristy) King, Samuel King, Anna King, Matthew King, Julie (Josh) Terry, Brian King, brother Frank J.P. Lipera, and two nieces Janis (Mike) Moffett and Judy (Jim) Forsman.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 2, 2005 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 26418 Mountain Highway East, Spanaway 98387-9404.
