Scott C. Norris' Obituary
Scott Charles Norris was born in Jamestown, New York on November 9, 1962 and passed away in Puyallup, Washington on January 19, 2018 after a sudden illness.
Scott was born to Louis and Lucille (Pollaro) Norris on November 9, 1962, just minutes before his twin brother Mark made it on the scene. They were inseparable through their childhood,
eventually entering the US Army in 1982 on the buddy system. They did boot camp in Fort Sill Oklahoma, were stationed in South Korea together, and then both were stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
Scott was the second of four boys. He and his brothers Jeff, Mark and Randy grew up in Jamestown attending Euclid Elementary, Washington Jr. High and Jamestown High School.
Scott met Laurie (Bush) Norris in Washington and they married on August 15th, 1986. Scott worked for the Boeing Company from 1987 until he retired in 2017. The best day of his life was when Michael Scott Norris was born on November 6, 1989. He always said he loved him more than life itself.
Scott was a character that will not soon be forgotten. He had the biggest heart, that he would hide behind a gruff exterior, but he would do anything for anyone. He was a giver, giving whatever he had to whomever he met. He loved cars and car lots, which has been the Norris’ twins form of entertainment. Some of his best friends, he met while buying cars.
Scott also loved to travel and over the years. He, Laurie and their RVs have visited 40 of the 50 states. Custer’s Last Stand at the Little Bighorn was a favorite, along with the Black Hills, Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, the Battle of Gettysburg and he loved to drive through cemeteries looking at the history of the tombstones. Some of his favorite memories were those spending the summers camping near Jamestown New York and spending time with his extended family in New York and Pennsylvania.
Scott loved to joke and could keep a straight face so you were never sure if he was telling the truth until he let you in on the joke. He loved to talk with people and had a way of making people at ease. He was a man after God’s own heart. Scott was a man of conviction and never apologetic. He always said he was not a some of the time person; he would let you know
exactly where he stood. He will be missed by family and friends.
Scott is survived by his wife of 31 years, Laurie, his son Michael (Traci) Norris, father Lou Norris, brothers Jeff (Karen) Norris, his twin Mark Norris, Randy (Laura) Norris, Tim (Tracey) Garvey, Tom (Janet) Garvey, nieces Kari (Leo) Aguilar, Mari (Joel) McGill Nikki (Joshua) Garvey, Kristina (Nathan) Sleeper, Kara Garvey, Danielle (Raymond) Dean, nephew Chase (Kaila) Norris and many other family members, neighbors, and friends. He was preceded in death by mother, Lucille Zulick, step-mother Ruth Ann Norris, and his grandparents.
