Celebrating the Life of Scott Howard Ivey
May 19th, 1960 – May 9th, 2026
We celebrate the beautiful life of Scott Howard Ivey, a man who never met a skill he could not master. His days were filled with energy, curiosity, and a big personality that turned everyday moments into lively memories.
Born on May 19th, 1960, in Danvers, Massachusetts, Scott grew up believing that possibility had no limits. Friends and family often said he was good at everything, and he happily proved them right time and again.
Scott’s career path reads like an adventure novel. He dazzled guests as a chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City, refined palates as a certified sommelier, and served his country in the army. Later, he enjoyed the open road as a truck driver, showing that hard work and variety energized him.
Away from work, Scott’s creative side shone through woodworking projects, and his home was always brightened by the cats he loved. These passions showed the same care and precision he brought to every job.
Words that fit Scott best are Intelligent, Hardworking, Creative, Confident, and Kind. He held strong opinions yet matched them with a generous heart, leaving friends and relatives feeling heard, challenged, and appreciated.
Scott is lovingly remembered by his sister Tamara Sharp and his daughter Shayleigh Ivey. He now reunites with his son Gentry Ivey, his mother Jacqueline McGondel, and his father William McGondel, who all passed before him.
Today, we choose joy as we remember Scott in his workshop, kitchen, or behind the wheel, always giving his all. May each story told keep his spirited legacy moving forward and remind us to greet life with the same bold enthusiasm he showed every single day.
