Scott Edwin Rice
May 10, 1968 - December 2, 2009
Scott passed away at the age of 41 after fighting a courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Tacoma, WA, and was a graduate of Curtis High School. Scott was a talented Certified Dental Technician, working in the dental field for over 23 years. He was also a member of the Washington State Dental Laboratory Association.
Scott loved music, playing the drums, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends. He was a hard worker and had great attention for detail. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tracie, daughters Alisa Rice and Amanda Coulter, his mom and step-dad, Jeanette and Ralph Miller, his father Lewis Rice, brothers Brett Rice, Todd Miller, and Chad Miller (Dana), sister Dany Carter (Greg), stepsister Sara Miller (Ed) and stepbrother Wayne Miller (Kelly), and five nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by grandmother Creta Wakeley.
Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ravits and the wonderful staff at Virginia Mason ALS Center, the ALS Association, the special angels at Franciscan Hospice and the Hospice House, Linda Johnson -Å"Momma,- Gary and Ann Johnson, and Kristine Johnson for all of their loving care.
A funeral service to celebrate Scott's life will be held Friday, December 11, 2009 at 1:00pm in the Mountain View Valley Chapel in Lakewood.
