Sawai Kennedy's Obituary
Sawai Kennedy was born on July 9, 1944 in a village (Lumyai) in Thailand to Peng and Hoo Tassanaruck. She was the second of three children. On March 19, 1973, Sawai married James Kennedy in Ubon, Thailand before coming to the United States and retiring in Lakewood, Washington. They enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with family. Sawai attended Pierce College’s ESL program and spent her time focusing on her children as a full time stay at home mom. Sawai was a Buddhist and a member of Thai Temple Auburn. Some of Sawai’s favorite past times included cooking, playing bingo, family time, and crafts. Sawai will be remembered for her sense of humor, her heart of giving, having a kind soul, being active, amongst being brave. Two of Sawai’s dearest friends included Ausa Ziegler and Thon Sripha. Sawai is survived by her daughters Cholada Otto, Malisa Kennedy, and Kennedy James.
A memorial service for Sawai will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home’s Garden Chapel in Lakewood, Washington.
