Saturnino Castro Jr.'s Obituary
Saturnino Castro Jr. was born on August 2, 1956 in New York, New York to Saturnino and Juanita Castro. He passed away on August, 26, 2022 at home in Tacoma, Washington. As a young man, he was known by the nickname “Lefty”. He enjoyed playing handball throughout the city and was trained in the art of, Kung Fu. Though training Saturnino learned lessons to build up a strong mental discipline that allowed him to have an easier transition into the United States Army. He served from 1974 to 1994, entering in 1974 as an infantryman, and later reclassified to petroleum specialist. Throughout his time honorable serving our county he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Hawaii, Korea, Italy and Fort Lewis. He married the love of his life, Irene, on June 29, 1979 in Fort Campbell, KY. He retired in 1994 after serving twenty years. One of Saturnino's favorite past times was remodeling his BMW with his son. He enjoyed camping, visiting the ocean, traveling, and taking pictures with family and friends. Saturnino loved listening to Marc Anthony and the Oldies, teaching his grandkids how to fish, ride a bike, and make a walking stick. He was a great friend to many and will be deeply missed.
