Sato Fulton's Obituary
Ruth Sato Hamanishi Fulton, 90, was born in Puyallup, WA on Aug. 12, 1917 to Kiri and Yasukichi Hamanishi. She departed this life on July 4, 2008 at home in Lakewood, WA. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Bob, in 2000; they were happily married for 59 years. Ruth was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was multi-talented, playing classical piano, painting prolifically and was a life master in duplicate bridge. She was well known in bridge circles having played for 40 years in Lakewood and Tacoma. Her optimistic and loving spirit will be sadly missed by her daughters, Kitty Tartaglia of Lakewood, Joni Fulton of New Jersey, and son, Robert L. Fulton, Jr., of Maui and her six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews. Ruth leaves a sister, Fusae Nakamura, a brother, Tom Hamanishi (Punchy), and a sister-in-law, Sally Hamanishi. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the Lakewood United Methodist Church or Franciscan Hospice to PO Box 1502, Tacoma, WA 98401-9836. A celebration of her life will be held at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 6900 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA on Sat., July 19, 2008 at 1:00 pm.
