Sara Lee Hockman-Pryor's Obituary
Sara Lee Hockman-Pryor, also known as Sara Lee, passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 79 in Tacoma, Washington. She was born on June 7, 1944, in Wenatchee, Washington, to her late parents, Ernie Moore and Alice B. Moore. Sara Lee was a beloved registered nurse, dedicating her career to serving others at Tacoma General Hospital and Madigan Military Hospital until her retirement in 1989.
Sara Lee was a vibrant and kind-hearted individual. She had a passion for fashion, and you would often find her wearing bedazzled clothing. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly, and her soft spot for animals was evident in her compassionate nature. Sara Lee found joy in gardening and working in her yard, and she took pride in her ability to lend a helping hand to her church, neighborhood, and family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary L. Pryor, and her children, Cory Wilson-Sheffield (Ed Sheffield), Kelly Wilson Bretz (Jeffrey Bretz), and Terrilee Wilson Magliocca (Todd Magliocca). Sara Lee is also survived by her stepchildren, Raylund Pryor (Julie), Damond Pryor (Robin), and Kevin Pryor, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
Sara Lee attended Ingraham High School and furthered her education at Tacoma Community College and Pacific Lutheran University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. She was a dedicated nurse who made a significant impact on the lives of her patients.
All Saints Episcopal Church held a special place in Sara Lee's heart, where she found solace and community.
In her free time, Sara Lee enjoyed indulging in her hobbies, which included gardening, working in the yard, crafting, sewing, baking, cooking, and decorating for all holidays.
A graveside service will be held on October 16th at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Washington. Contributions in Sara Lee's memory can be made to the Tacoma Humane Society, an organization that held great importance to her.
The compassionate team at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery in Lakewood, Washington, is assisting the family with the arrangements for Sara Lee's final journey.
Sara Lee Hockman-Pryor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
