Samuel Moses Curtright's Obituary
On December 15th Sam took his final breath and went to the other side. He was born to G.W. Curtright and Rose D. Curtright in Rainier, Washington, on October 5, 1909. He was raised by his mother and Â"EsclallamÂ" grandmother Rose Cabana Gardner. He worked as a Barber for forty years in Rainier, Fife and Tacoma. Sam married Elizabeth Maruca in 1937 having one son Jack G. Curtright in 1942. Elizabeth died and he then married Bertha A. Allerdings and they had a daughter Claudia Jean in 1944. They lived in Tacoma until Bertha died in 1992. For the last seven years Sam has lived at the Hampton AlzheimerÂ's Care Center in Tumwater. His years at the Hampton have been positive under the Leadership of Christine Fujiwara, Shari, Crystal, Sandy and a host of care givers who day in and day out provided a positive nurturing environment in the twilight of his life. The Hampton team and its Facility is a special place. Thank you all!Samuel leaves his daughter Claudia Garrettson and her husband Dennis and thier three children Dennis, Chad, and Jeannie. Also his son Jack and wife Jane and their son Cole.Peace be with you Dad and your canoe is pointed west. A Private Graveside Service will be held for the immediate family and friends at Mountain View Cemetery. A Celebration Reception of SamÂ's life will be from 1:30-4:00PM on Saturday January 8, 2005 in the Willow Room in the Celebration of Life Center at Mountain View Funeral Home, 253-584-0252. No flowers, those so inclined a donation to the Pierce County Humane Society would be appreciated.
