Samuel Brent Carter was a strong man that I love and miss very much. He gave me some of the best advice I ever had on any problem with that reassuring smile. He is a strong man and natural leader with true morals on life that will be missed the most. I know he will be remembered by every person who knew him and his guidance will never be forgotten. Big sam was a man that i respect and wil never forget, his willingness and ability to take care of any Soldier in any predicament that they seemed to get into. I will always charish our talks together under a banyon tree on Hickam air force base when we were both drained. He would end every conversation with "well chad better get back to the office" even when he was not able to talk he gave me that look and i knew we better get back to work. My memories of morehead city are no less charishable, long runs to the gym and basketball was the norm. Sam my friend you are always in my heart and loved the times we shared, rest in peace my brother

Samuel B. Carter, (Brent) was a man of true integrity and character. His larger than life personality made him a natural leader of Soldiers and a joy to serve with. He was a man that you could count on to get any job done. If SFC Samuel B. Carter was on the task, the task would be completed above standards and on time. Behind the strong NCO voice was a man with his Soldier's interests at heart. He will be incredibly missed and my deepest condolences to his wife and children. I am sorry for the Army's loss of an outstanding leader and absolutely heartbroken over his family's loss of a husband and father.

Brent worked with me in Emerald Isle NC around 1997-98. We became friends. Brent was a happy guy who you could always count on to be there. He was fun,loyal and trust worthy and believed in doing the best and always the right thing. They just don't make to many like him anymore. He will be missed. God bless his family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Brent was a good man, that was taken to soon in life. He was a good husband to my sister, Vicky. Even better father to Cindy and Lessie. I remember talking to him about my sister, at one of the our family gatherings. I told him, that he was a positive influence on my sister. She was confident and happy. He looked at me, and then fondly looked at my sister. I would have and be nothing without that women. He loved her, as much as she loved him. They complimented each other, and it showed. He fought his cancer with every breath he took to be with Vicky and his two daughters. The battle with cancer is over, and now he is at peace. He was surrounded by love on earth, and now he is surrounded by love in heaven. He will be missed.

I will always remember all of the stories from my youth that you were a part of. I would always yell out of the kitchen window for you. "Brent!!!!!". You and your sister were staples in my life at a young age. You will be missed by many. My thoughts are with you Lisa, Lessie and the entire family.
