Sam Dickson's Obituary
Rev. Sam Dickson Jr. of Tacoma, Washington went home to be with his father on February 26, 2011. Rev. Dickson was preceded in death by his wife Janie, his mother Pernola and father Sam Dickson Sr., his sister Delores Brinkley and brother Henry Dickson.
He was born in Natchez, Mississippi to Pernola and Sam Dickson Sr. on November 22, 1936. He graduated from Saint Frances High School in 1954. Immediately after High School he joined the United States Air Force.
He is survived by four daughters, Barbara Dickson, Cynthia Waddles, Rita Dickson Pope of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Tina Dickson of California. Five sisters, Amy Jones of Michigan, Adine Moore of Southfield, Michigan, Josie Moore of Tacoma, Washington, Rosie Dickson of Saginaw, Michigan and Christine Dickson of Horman, Mississippi. Fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. One very special friend Lewis Bethea.
Rev. Dickson joined the Air Force in 1954 until 1962 at which time he was honorably discharged. During his time in the Air Force he received a National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
